Date of birth: January 2, 1908 (Meiji 41)
He dreamed of the painter and went to Kyoto alone, then strove for
the study of a picture, working in the studio of a Kiyomizu ware.
Although, he extended his domain from pottery painting which was
being made into the means of a life those days, and studied ceramics
at large to pursue the real value of ceramics.
During wartime he was forced hard work and it is obliged to a prolonged
struggle against disease.
From about 1961 (Showa 36), in order to plant his bonsai, he began
making a pot to kill time.
The pot which shows the outstanding brush skill became sought-after,
as a result he follows a pot author's way.
Some of his masterpieces are Hiroshige Ando's "Fifty-Three
Stations of the Tokaido" and "Choju-Giga" etc. |
