We prepare catalog of the place of production of famous Japanese bowls, such as Tokoname, Yokkaichi, and Shigaraki. You can find bonsai pot as you like surely from this catalog which the pot is introduced abundantly.

In case of out of stock at our shop and getting from the place of production, it takes time somewhat until dispatch.

The third generation Tozen Akai (1818-89) is called the beginning as for the bonsai pot of Tokoname ware, the Ranbachi is still existing.
According to the historical records, since Kabon was sent to the 1st domestic industrial exposition in 1877 (Meiji 10), many bonsai pots have been manufactured
In our country, Deimonobachi was attached importance after the middle of Edo period, and the Shudei product was used abundantly also in Tokyo starting with the bonsai boom which began in Osaka from 1882 (Meiji 15).

These Deimono were imitated Chinese Gikobon and mass-produced.
From the Taisho last period to the early Showa period, Tokoname aimed at the elegant and dignified bonsai pot by making good use of Deimono, and it is treasured equaly with the chinese product from the lover, and is called "Taisho-toko".
Arond 1960 (Showa 35) one ceramist manufactured the unglazed bonsai pot (Tokoname-udei) by molding, and paved the way for mass production. And the oblong bonsai pot of Kumoashi became a best seller, and was sent all over the country including Kanto.

From about 1965 (Showa 40), as a result of high economic growth, income and leisure increased and the status of the Tokoname bonsai pot was conjointly made into the immovable with Satsuki boom.
Afterwards, "Tokoname" brand made its name as a high-class bonsai pot in the world after that.

Hattori, Koyo, Shibakatsu, Bigei, Kakuzan, Ikko, Seizan, Gyozan, Shuhou, Keizan, Shouzan, Kazuhiro, Yamaaki, Youzan, Reihou etc.

-- Yokkaichi --
In Higashi-Akuragawa, Yokkaichi-shi, MIE prefecture, a certain chief priest and potter of Shigaraki tried the ceramic business in 1829 was the biginning. The teapot thinly extended like paper with the wood type and the clay type was exported prosperously.
After white clay drain, it was studied from Onkoyaki of Mino, and changed to red clay Rokuro fabrication and became the present large pottery-industry through complications.

-- Shigaraki --
Shigaraki is one of the Rokkoyou means six famous potteries in Japan which is proud of the tradition for 1250 years.
It was began when Emperor Shomu started the construction of Shigarakinomiya in 742 (Tempyo 14), and Sueki of cloth texturing tile, bowl were baked.
Then, from Big to small works such as Mizugame, Tanetsubo, Chatsubo, Chaki, Tokkuri, Hibachi, Uekibachi have remained "quiet elegance" and "elegant simplicity" peculiar to Shigaraki ware until today.

"Namako glaze (close to the color of the Sea of Japan - dark blue -)" seen by Uekibachi and hibachim, many kinds of glaze probably because there are few goods of underglaze painting, and molding of big works, drying, calcination technique are the typical features of Shigaraki ware.
